How HOHI child sponsorship works

Children living in poverty around the world face incredible challenges. Every project addressing the needs of children is different as it responds in ways that enhance the ability of local communities to become self sufficient. Self sufficiency is always the goal.

In desperate situations HOHI will enable local partners to provide transitional care through residential care when other alternatives are not available. However, HOHI's goal is to help such children find families, or foster care, that will provide them with a healthy environment in which to live.

HOHI desires to see family homes become homes of hope through child sponsorship and other community based projects. Child sponsorship helps to provide long term benefits to a sponsored child and their family and community by funding vital development work such as:

• providing basic medical and dental care
• digging wells for clean drinking water
• providing agricultural training so they can grow enough food to eat
• the chance for children to go to school.

Child Sponsorship helps provide whatever communities need to ensure children grow up in a healthy environment with opportunities for the future.

When you sponsor a child, your support allows us to work with the child's community on long-term community development projects. Your contribution of $35 a month is pooled with that of other sponsors. So you are helping not just one child but thousands in need.

While your money is not sent directly to your sponsored child, you do have the opportunity to form a relationship with your sponsored child to see the changes you are helping to make in their lives.

Every day, too many children are suffering from hunger and disease without the opportunities we take for granted. Sponsoring a child is a way to make a difference.
